We all have a purpose or a number of purposes. This purpose or the number of purposes is determined by you and or others. Your purpose defines you and gives you some meaning to life. The irony is that the purpose can be or is translated into a struggle and the struggle becomes the definition of life. Find your purpose and you find some meaning to life. Find fulfillment from your purpose and you find joy. Make it a struggle and you find conflict and misery.

There are some things that you just have to do. You have to breathe in order to live or to be alive thus breathing has a purpose and so breathing has meaning. It means that you are alive. You are a spiritual being having a human experience and a part of that experience requires you to eat . Unless you have a large trust fund in your name or to draw from, you need to provide for yourself and so providing for yourself is a purpose. If you have family, you also need to provide for them and that is a part of your purpose. This gives meaning to getting up in the morning and going to work. It is the means to an end.

There is purpose to a lot of things that we do in life but we tend to look more at what has to be done rather than, the purpose to these many things. To these things you may see the mundane to life rather than the bigger picture but look deeper for the purpose to what and why and you will see the bigger picture. You will see purpose and you will find some meaning. Waking up has its own purpose and its own meaning. Waking up invites you to a new day. It means that you are alive and can be creative.

To have no purpose is to have no meaning to life or to find no meaning to life. Magnify your purpose however mundane it may appear and you magnify the meaning of your life. The more fulfillment that you derive from your purpose, the greater the joy you shall also find.

Do what you do because you want to and not because you think that you have to. Attached to purpose is responsibility and it is this responsibility that can become a burden to anyone in any capacity. Being a parent is a purpose and has its own responsibilities. Being a good parent requires fulfilling the responsibilities attached to parenthood. Being an even better parent is fulfilling your parent and these responsibilities not because you have to but because you want to.

We use words like responsibility, obligation and commitment to bind ourselves to people to places, to things and to some of our purposes in life but the most important of all is free will. We are free to accept any purpose or to commit ourselves in any capacity to the responsibilities of that capacity and we are also free to reject purpose and responsibility, The choice is yours but the more you embrace your purpose and the less you struggle with your purpose of being, the better the journey through life.

Identify your purpose, embrace your purpose, love your purpose, breathe some life into your purpose and your purpose will breathe some life into you. Wake up with purpose to your life and some purpose to the day. You have those purposes that already exist and you have those purposes that you can create for yourself and the day ahead.
