Wake up & think positive
![]() ` One thing that life does offer is purpose. Even trying to find purpose in life or to life is a purpose." NosaJ Have you ever woken up in the morning to wonder for a moment ` where am I? what am I doing here? It may be a moment of disorientation or the early morning blues and then you do realize where you are and a series of other early morning thoughts come to mind and some questions too. The thoughts and the questions are ultimately looking for the answer to or relate to the meaning of life..your life, my life, our lives. Is how I am living, how I am supposed to live? Is what I am doing, what I am supposed to be doing? Is waking up in the morning and going to work, my purpose in life? Is my purpose in life to be a debtor for the rest of my life and work towards paying off my student loans, debts or the loan on the house? I wake up sometimes and I wonder about purpose. I wonder about my purpose and I wonder about the purpose of others .I wonder and I think, which is ironically also a purpose to finding answers. I find some answers but not all of them and life tends to present scenarios that stamp a big question mark on some answers found to purpose Purpose comes in many forms and can be found to anything or anywhere but most of all it has to be found in the mind. The value that the mind gives to any purpose is what gives power to the purpose and to the meaning of life. Perception of any action or the reality of particular circumstances can lead Purpose to be negative or positive. To the negative purpose the outcome is misery and to positive. purpose, the outcome is satisfaction and fulfillment. If you have a job, then the purpose is to wake up in the morning and to go to work. If you have student loans to pay off, the purpose was to educate yourself and now the purpose is to pay the debts off, if you can. Most of us are debtors, as nations are debtors and thus a purpose to such life is to pay off debts. These are what I would label as the negative purposes , the ones that make us question the meaning of life and so we should or get drowned in the belief that this is it. I do not think so and I refuse to think so. I have my early morning moments too but then I have to get up to fight that ridiculous notion that my purpose is to make institutions richer and fat cats even fatter. They shall get their dues in due course but there are other more beautiful purposes to the garden of life and the journey that is life. They are the purposes that I shall label as mine, align myself with and find joy to them. Life assigns us all similar purposes, others assign us purposes, places assign us purpose but most important of all we have to assign ourselves our own purpose or identify and align ourselves with such purposes in order to find ourselves and our own true meaning. The purposes that life has assigned, I shall do my best to fulfill. The purpose of where I am now shall be to learn from this place and advance to a better place. As for the purpose others assign by virtue of their relationship or trust in me, I shall honor as best as possible. On the subject of purpose my thoughts take me to the conclusion that my challenges are also my purpose. My purpose is to learn from my challenges , to overcome, to resolve as best as possible and to evolve accordingly. These challenges are but a subsidiary to the primary purpose of life The primary purpose is to live, to feel alive and not just to exist.

![]() I love words and how they can have so many definitions, how they can be subject to interpretation, how they can inspire or hurt and the word humble or humbleness is no different when it comes to definition, interpretation or use. The reason I am using the word and thought of humbleness as the subject here arises from a discussion with my good learned friend KJ from In-Zone Coaching. Humble is defined by Dictionary.com as not being proud or arrogant but modest. It also defines humble as having a feeling of insignificance, inferiority, subservience, being low in rank, being courteously respectful, low in height or small in size. The focus here is not being proud or arrogant but being modest, courteous and respectful. One with a feeling of insignificance can still be arrogant to hide inferiority but the confident person need not be arrogant. Being low in rank or small in size does not necessarily prevent arrogance either but being comfortable with self at any rank or of any size can foster humbleness. There are moments to our lives when we know without a doubt that there are some things that we were supposed to do and did do but along comes another party to contradict the facts and make you question your own sanity. A good example is submitting a report to your supervisor or boss at work and a week later they are asking you for the same report or telling you that they are still waiting for the report. Another example is working on your Doctorate thesis and you have submitted what you are supposed to but you are informed by your professor that it has not yet been submitted. What do you do? Do you forward them a copy of the e-mail and report that was previously sent and replied to or do you play the humble role and just send the report without any insinuation? The insinuation indicates that they were wrong but what good does proving them wrong do? What good does proving them wrong do, especially if you need them to meet your own ends? It does not prove you do be the better person either, because everyone makes mistakes and so why not be humble about it? Why not be modest and courteously respectful about the matter or most daily and ordinary matters. There is no need to make a crisis out of many a drama and there is no need to add fuel to fire that needs no more fuel or needs to be extinguished. Humbleness facilitates a certain calmness and frame of mind that promotes civility of relationships. It is not so much about who is right or wrong but more about how can we resolve the matter. It is not so much about size or status or subservience but having some regard and respect for others, irrespective of their flaws. Great leaders posses the element of humbleness and even success in life requires some degree of humbleness. It is a positive trait that can be applied to any relationship and in any role. It can prevent a lot of negativity in personal and or professional relationships. It can promote a parent/child relationship where the humble parent is not only teacher but also a student and learns from their child. There may of course come a time or times when you have to take the gloves of humbleness off in any relationship but always remember that being humble is a positive character trait that should serve you well in your personal and professional relationships. Jason.U @MondayMorningPositivity.com ![]() " Each day is only as exceptional as you are, as you think it is or as exceptional as you make it." NosaJ There are usually 365 days to the year. Each year is exceptional in its own way on a global, national, cultural or societal level. Every fourth year is exceptional compliments of the leap year. The days, the weeks and the months within any given year can appear very monotonous and will have their similarities but if you take a closer look, there is also something different to each day. There are some days when you will rise with the sun and there are some days when you just feel like lying in bed and not getting up or wait for the snooze buzz to go off three times before getting up. There are some days when you might have to wake up earlier than usual to get your child to school or get yourself earlier to work than usual and there are some days that you might be late to work or anywhere else because you are not too excited to get there. There are some days that it will rain and there are some days that it will shine, some days that you will hear the birds sing in the morning and some days that you might not. No day is ever exactly the same and even you are never exactly the same each and every day but what if you make up your mind to be exceptional every day? Maybe that is not possible either, no more than the sun will shine everyday or how you would like the weather to be every day. There will always be some deviation or variation. The difference is that you have no control over the weather but you do have some control over your state of mind and about being exceptional whenever you want to be. So why not choose to be exceptional? Why not make it an exceptional day today or whenever you want to? Why not do today some things that you do not do every day or circumstances distracts you from doing? Why not wake up and hug the one or those close to you?Why not learn from your mistakes of yesterday and correct them today, if you can? Why not be the better person and make that apology that you know someone else deserves? Why not wake up and say thank you to the universe for delivering you another day full of opportunities? Why not say thank you for something that has not already happened or has not yet been done but will be done? Why not let go of any grudges that you might have and see how it makes you feel? Why not be kind with your words and see who you can make smile today? Why not start the day with some humor and see how it flows through the day for you and others? Why not show some compassion for yourself, for others and about what you do rather than indifference? Why not be exceptional about who you are, how and at what you do? I could go on and on and on but the choice of being exceptional, how or at what you want to be exceptional about lies with you or rather within you. There are many different ways to be exceptional on any given day and they do not necessarily need to be all exercised on the same day. The point is that there are many ways to be exceptional in any capacity that you may find yourself or in any given environment or circumstances. Tap into your higher self and consciously decide to be exceptional. Be a better boss, be a better leader, be a better worker, be a better spouse, be a better parent, be a better friend to yourself and others. Be fearless and be your exceptional self as often as possible. Do something exceptional and make a practice of being exceptional. Have an exceptional day full of possibilities and positivity. |
