Wake up and share your day

Llife is about many things but if you want to narrow it down, you can put it under the umbrella of relationships. Life is all about relationships.

Life is also about having something, somewhere on someone to look forward to. That is the essence of relationships. Having something, somewhere or someone to look forward to not only gives purpose and meaning but also opens the door of the future to some joy.

The absence of something, somewhere or someone to look forward to, creates a void for sadness and misery to occupy.  If you do have something, somewhere or someone to look forward to, the future simply looks brighter.

I think that one of the reasons that God created life was out of love and the second reason was to share the majesty of the universe. Sharing is caring and if you have someone to look forward to, you should also look forward to sharing things with them.

Life keeps us in a very busy cycle and also tends to keep us from sharing some of the things that we would have liked to because the moment has passed. Fear and self preservation guard us against making ourselves  venerable or revealing  our feelings about events, even to those who would never ridicule us or hold us in contempt.

There are however those who may be looking forward to you. There may be those who are looking forward to hearing from you, however little you may have to say or share. There may be those who may just want to hear the sound of your voice to make their day better. There may be those who want to share their day with you without reservation but could not reach you or like you , got caught up in the process called life.

This happens  to friends, husbands and wives, parent and child, family and others. Imagine waking up together and leaving for work, no call during the day from your loved one and then you get home and you are both so exhausted, there is no energy left for intelligent meaningful  conversation.

The point to the looking forward to someone, is that you have to make time to share. It does make a lot of sense that sharing is caring, because the more that you share, the more that you grow to care.
There may be some exceptions to the rule of sharing , of course but that applies to negative sharing.

Share your joy and make someone else happy. Share a joke and make someone else smile. It does not take that long. Share what you heard but not for the sake of gossip. Share something you witnessed with a loved one but not because you want to be the critic. Share your sorrows to relieve some burden and not because you want to make someone else sad or grant misery more company.

Share because sharing is caring. Send that text message to a friend or loved one during the day. Pick up the phone and call your partner just to say hello or to say something nice and make their day.
Wake up and remember to share your day. Hopefully it is a good day for you and a few good things to share.

Wake up and keep on moving

We sometimes wake up and think that we are the only ones in our predicament but we are not. You are not the only one that gets stuck in the traffic in the morning because it takes a multitude of cars to create traffic. It would be nice if there was no traffic every morning that you left for work but you are not the only one going to work either or taking your children to school. Life is like that. Life has its own traffic. You have your own traffic and sometimes you are going to feel like you are stuck in a life traffic jam. Welcome to life.

The thing about traffic is that it makes getting to your destination slow or it makes you late but you do get to your destination, unless of course you decide to turn around and not  keep on moving in the traffic jam That might make you feel even worse than being in the traffic jam.

The trick to the traffic jam may be to leave earlier to avoid the traffic or just keep on moving with the knowledge that you will eventually arrive at your destination. The traffic jam that is life is also like that. You can give up and turn around or you can keep on moving. You can keep on driving to work you can turn around. You can keep on taking your children to school or not but getting to your destination eventually is success.

We all have to deal with the traffic that is life and from time to time we will get stuck. It does not make me feel better that I am not the only one stuck in traffic The knowledge simply empowers me with some understanding about the journey and that road rage or life rage is not going to help me get there. What does make me feel better is knowing that I can get to my destination and that if I keep on moving. I will get to my destination. I will not enjoy the company of misery along the way and I will not allow misery to enjoy my company or challenges along the way.

Another thought that comes to mind about the journey that is life is that there are many destinations to each life and here you simply have to ask yourself, which destinations are more important to you. You have to ask yourself which destinations are more of a priority than others. It is like wanting to travel the
whole world but not having to. If you can get to the most important destinations but not to all of them, you still find great satisfaction.

As for any journeys that you are still to make in life, there are some that are best started earlier in life and there are some that may be better started later in life to avoid a traffic jam. The choice is always yours and the keys to dealing with the life traffic jam and getting to your destination are your state of mind, to keep on moving  and every action that you take.

Wake up and keep on moving. It is not so much about being in the fast lane or the slow lane and it is not so much about who gets there first. This is your journey and it is about getting to your destinations.
You cannot get there if you do not keep on moving.

Wake up and manage your time

Tick tock tick, time continues to pass us by. Tick tock tick, the mouse did not run up the clock but kept on running around the clock, until it collapsed from exhaustion. Tick tock tick, we tend to run around in circles, when we should walk and sometimes walk, when we should be running. Unlike the mouse, we have some common sense to know when we are running around in circles and to stop doing so. Unlike the mouse, we have the gift of free will, we have purpose, intent, the ability to reason and knowledge that time is of the essence.

There are many schools of thought on the concept of time. There are several books on the concept of time and the management of time. Time travel may even be possible but for the multitude, that is never going to be a reality and will always remain a mystery or within the realms of science fiction.
You may never be able to time travel, except in your mind but you do have the opportunity to manage your time.

I like to think of time as a gift. It exists by itself, because it existed before we did and will continue to exist even after we are all gone. We are simply a testament of time and measure time according to our own concepts of reality and circumstances. Time is neither friend nor foe. It is neither fast or slow but relative to what we do, how much or how little we do within any particular time. It is complimentary to the gift of life. Like any gift, time has the value that we assign to it.

Everything that we do takes some time. Some things that we do are more important than others and the trick is to give more time to what is important rather than to what is not so important. The trick is to give value to time or to create some quality time as opposed to the quantity time. Quantity time is doing a lot of things that do not have the quality of less things done within the same time frame.

Both quality time and quantity time have the capacity to provide you with some satisfaction but quality time will always provide the greater satisfaction and fulfillment. You need to be able to distinguish between both , manage your time accordingly and find balance, rather than frustration or exhaustion.

Waking up takes some time. Thanks to traffic getting to work takes some time and before you know it, the day is over. While you are stuck in traffic, you could simply make some time to call a friend or a loved one. During your work day, you could make time to have lunch with your spouse or an old friend. You have to decide how you use and manage your time but always remember to make time
for the more important things in life and also the important people in your life.

Wake up and plan your day accordingly. Wake up and manage your time, so that at the end of the day you do not feel that you have wasted the gift of time. If you can manage your time or spend your time wisely, it ultimately adds up to a life well spent.

Wake up and be flexible

Do you know why some tree breaks but the willow remains after the storm? The answer lies with the flexibility of the willow. Some trees have such a great foundation and are so strong that no storm can bring them down, unless struck by lightning. The willow by virtue of its flexibility may be able to dance around the lightening but not the tree.

When the thought of flexibility came to mind it was not about the flexibility of the body and it was not about yoga or flexing your muscles, although that is always a good way to start the day. I was thinking more about the flexibility of the mind and flexibility of being.

The reason that some things do not work so well in society and in our lives, is a rigid approach to life. The reason for a lot of frustration to our lives are rules, regulations, policies and practices that are that are rigidly applied or applied without any flexibility.

Let us use customer service as an example. There used to be a time when there were no automated services. You could speak to a person rather than a machine, and find some flexibility. The machines are automated and there is no flexibility but for the prompts. You have to prompt yourself to be flexible to these changes and learn not to be frustrated.

Almost all the banks offer a one-time courtesy refund for overdraft fees but it is also automated and there is no flexibility for any circumstances but bank error. I love that phrase ` bank error' but the error is the lack of flexibility. You have to learn to be flexible yourself and rob one of your bank accounts to pay another, if you want to avoid those fees.

Even receiving your own money can be frustrating, if you encounter a Walmart employee who tells you that you cannot receive money sent to you because according to policy, the names on your driver's license do not match the name on money transfer because there is an extra name on your driver's license.  In this particular instance add common sense to being flexible.

Flexibility is a wonderful thing. There are rules, regulations and policies for a reason and their purpose is to create order, not disorder or complications. By being rigid in the application of rules, regulations, policies and the application of our own lives, we make our own lives and or the lives of others more complicated than necessary.

It is about flexibility of being and flexibility of application. If you provide a service to or for others, wake up and be flexible. Give someone a break, without necessarily breaking the rules. Wake up and give yourself a break.  If you have some issues that have been troubling you, apply some flexibility to the issues and to your life to try and get different results.

Wake up, flex your body, flex your muscles and your mind. Wake up to flexibility of being and application and make some positive difference.
