Wake up and appraise thyself

` There is no one better to give you a life performance appraisal or     review than yourself."

If you have ever been employed or are employed in the corporate environment, then you must be familiar with the wonderful work performance appraisal. In the good old days it used to be in paper format but now it has become mostly electronic and of course much more detailed. The purpose of the performance appraisal is to appraise how well you are performing at work but the accuracy of some performance appraisals are without a doubt questionable and their purpose twisted towards a different end than performance.

Work performance appraisals tend to be very generic, impersonal and mechanical. You are not mechanical and when it comes to your own life, at some point in time, you have to do a personal and honest appraisal of your own life. You have to ask yourself ` How am I performing in life?'

Each life is so diverse and so full of distractions, that a personal life appraisal could be difficult to get to, just as a busy work environment may delay or postpone a work performance appraisal. You may even dread doing your own life appraisal as you may dread a work performance appraisal, but it is something you should do, because it is for your own benefit and not for the benefit of any corporation or board member to make more profits. It is about your profit.

There are no shortages of areas in the personal life area for assessment or performance appraisal but if you are looking for any guidance you can break it down into three primary areas: Health, wealth, and love.

The health performance appraisal has to be the priority, for without health, you cannot really enjoy any wealth that you might have or fully engage in the paradise of love. It is indeed a shame upon society, that in spite of the wealth and advancement of nations, a multitude of the people remain uncared for. It is a shame that many corporations profit from the woes, the illness and tragedies of others and it is a shame that some cannot afford to pay for their health care.

If you are fortunate enough to be able to pay for your health care, please take advantage of it.
If your employer is taking a large share of your hard earned money to cover your health payments, please take advantage of it and if you are unfortunately having some difficulties covering those large health care payments, please find some way to take care of your health. The body is unique in its own way. It is a living temple that usually knows when something is wrong with it or even what is wrong with it, without needing an expert opinion but if there is something wrong, it will need some repairs and you must not ignore the signs or the temple falls apart.

Wealth is wonderful and everyone wants to be a millionaire but you do not need to be a millionaire to be wealthy. You need to be smart and sensible with your natural God given wealth and somehow be able multiply and secure your daily bread as best as possible towards achieving the lifestyle that you seek to support for yourself and your family. Appraise what you have, reflect upon how you have used it and contemplate how you can use what you do have to improve your finances and your wealth.

Love is grand. Love is wonderful. Love is one of the greatest gifts to give or to receive. Love itself is pure plain and simple but complicated by relationships and circumstances. Your mind and your heart have to work together on this part of your performance appraisal and it is a subject that we will have to adjourn for another time due to its unique and intricate nature, but meanwhile keep this thought in mind...

` Know those who truly love you and truly love those who you give your love to." NosaJ

Be aware of who you are and how you are. Live life and do not just exist. Take care of yourself, take care of your temple, take care of your love and your loved ones and your life performance appraisal, should have positive results.

"The best way to start any journey is to be as best prepared as                                          possible for the journey."  NosaJ

Yesterday was a journey. Today is a journey and tomorrow will be a journey further into the future. Hopefully every day of your life has not been and will not be struggle but every day of your life is a journey. We all have similar struggles but the journey to or through those struggles is different and our responses are different. The struggles that are sometimes a part of every journey are made easier by being better prepared for them or having the means to minimize the struggle.

Life is such that it requires some preparation. Almost anything that we do requires some sort of preparation and the better the preparation, the better the outcome. Preparation involves some kind of planning but as we also well know, not everything goes according to plan but if there is no planning then nothing does go according to plan anyway. Even the best laid plans can be shot to bits by circumstances, but better a plan to be shot to bits and put back together, rather than none at all. If no goals are set, there are no goals to be fulfilled and no fulfillment.

If there is no preparation, the outcome to any given day or event remains full of uncertainties. Preparation is the ally of planning and of success. You cannot be ready for what lies ahead if you are not prepared for what lies ahead. This applies on many levels with the journey, the struggles and also to preparing yourself to receive the blessings that life has to offer to you.

" If you are not ready to receive your blessings, then your blessings are not going to come to you
without some resistance."

One question that you do have to ask yourself today is ` am I ready for the day ahead?' If the answer is no, then the second question must be ` Why am I not ready' and the third should be ` what can I do to be ready? It might be a bit too late to be ready for  yesterday or even the now but you still have your mind to prepare you for what lies ahead. Apply the same question to the weeks and the year that lies ahead but do not kid yourslef about the time that yo do have get ready or be prepared. Make haste but also careful haste with such preparations.

There is the mental preparation and there is the physical preparation or actual preparation and both have to work together for you to be truly prepared for what lies ahead, the expected and even the unexpected. Intentions have to reflected in action or with action or intent becomes unfulfilled and meaningless.

The physical preparation is more aligned with the known and the mental with the unexpected.
Both are about doing something to prepare the self for what lies ahead. No one knows entirely what lies ahead and the further away time is from you, the more difficult it is to be prepared for such times, but each step of preparation here and now, is the foundation to the outcome of the future.A plan now and preparations to accompany any such plan, is without a doubt a safety net for the future.

Wake up and be ready for the day ahead. Wake up and prepare yourself for the future. Preparation is not simply about making resolutions that will fade into nothing but making your mind up to make some things happen and  taking the necessary steps to make them happen.  Being prepared is your shield against the struggle and your umbrella to some of the storms that you might encounter on the journey that is your life.

Have a great day and may the days and weeks to the year ahead unfold with much positivity to add grace and beauty and blessings  to your life.
