" There is no greater joy than to to do what you love doing, being who you want to be, where you want to be and with whom you want to be." NosaJ
I may have just given you one of the answers to what happiness is or looks like. Alternatively I may have just given you the reason as to why a lot of people are not happy most of the time. I use the phrase a lot of people, because there are a lot of people still looking for happiness. I use the phrase most of the time, because as dismal as life may sometimes feel, appear or be, there are always moments of happiness to most lives.
Now, if these moments of happiness can be multiplied, then the level of individual happiness,Of the multitude and of society also increases. Unfortunately the multiplication of happiness of the multitude and of society is not a simple equation. Too many variations. The multiplication of happiness on the individual level is not a simple equation either but it is a much simpler equation, because it is your equation. There are a lot of variables that affect the multiplication and each of the equations but your own equation includes free will, the choice and the ability to be happy, The choices that you make are yours and those choices will lead to misery or Joy.
There are things that we do that are simply not us. There are some places that we find ourselves, that we know for one reason or another that we do not truly belong. There are some relationships that we engage in that we know are doomed from the word go, but venture forward anyway and get stuck in them. There is that job that was supposed to be temporary due to circumstances but somehow became more permanent. Some situations actually turn out to be okay, simply because of the learning to like what you did not like and then growing to love it, learning to know someone and to love them or any given place.
Misery arises from resentment or from not liking something that you do, a place, a person or a particular situation. These situations then become a nesting ground for negativity, instead of positive spitual and personal growth. Because you are not doing what you were designed to do,
what is akin to your spirit or even what you paid all those student loans to study for, something feels wrong or something feels missing.
The good news is that it does not matter where you are now, unless of course you are at the end of your tether. The now is important, because if you can change the now, then you can change the future. The now does not matter in the sense that it becomes the past and where you end up is what is or becomes more important. Do nothing and you become stuck...the past the present and the future remain the same or very similar. Do something about it and something will happen and you can make it happen.
On that note you have to know what you do like doing the most or what you love doing and travel in that direction much more. You have to know where you want to be in life and make every effort to get there. You have to know who you want to be with and make it a damn good relationship, rather than be there just to be in a relationship or have a job just for the sake of having a job. You have to believe in yourself, in spite of any obstacles that may appear in your mind or on the way and in spite of everyone else doubting you and your choices. Be you and be happy.
I have always know what I love doing the most and I have always known what brings me joy, the people, the things and the places. I have also come to know my distractions and found that the trick is to identify them and override them. Not always a piece of cake but they are my distractions. I will not go back to the places that were not of joy either and by places I mean situations, certain jobs and or relationships. I will keep on doing what I love doing the most as much as possible, keep on loving unconditionally, come what may and keep on moving forward to even more beautiful things, places, people and situations.
Wake up and do what you love doing the most and keep on moving forward to more of it. In the event that you do get stuck, learn and grow to love what you are doing for now, where you are and use it as a platform to get to where you need to be, wanted to or want to be and how you want to be.
